Eid ul Adha/Azhaan Islamic festival will be celebrated in India on October 6. Eid ul          Azha marks the end of annual pilgrimage Hajj and to commemorate the acts of Prophet Ibrahim when he showed readiness to sacrifice his son Hazrat Ismail (R.A) in obedience to Allah.Eid ul Adha begins annually on the 10th of Islamic month of Zilhajj, a day after the day of Arafah, when millions of Muslims perform Hajj in Mecca, Saudi Arabia and lasts for three-days.Eid ul Adha or greater Eid is also known as Feast of the Sacrifice,Muslims all over the globe perform the obligatory (for those who can afford) sacrifice of a halal four legged animal. The meat is then distributed in equal proportions among family, relatives and friends and poor. On Eid morning Muslims perform the special congregational Eid prayer and then greet each other.
